Students need four math credits to graduate from high school and two of them must be Algebra I and Geometry.  If a student plans to attend college Algebra II is necessary.  Colleges recommend that students take a math class during their senior year.  Frederick Community College will waive their placement test if a student takes Algebra II or a higher level math class during the senior year and passes with an A or B.  Students who will graduate in 2009 or later must pass the Algebra I with Data Analysis High School Assessment (HSA).
