Math | Engineering | Science | Achievement Maryland MESA was founded in 1976 by two schools in Baltimore. Now Maryland consists of more than 100 participating schools all over the state. In the 100 schools there are over 2100 students and 180 teachers participating in MESA's programs. MESA clubs run from kindergarten to 12th grade and promote math, engineering, science, and technology. MESA's goals are to provide an environment that students can explore any math and science field that they want. MESA also strives to encourage and help students enter the math and science field as a professional.
